Im Tyson, I'm
currently a third year student, finishing off my third and final year in
the Bachelor of Art and Design school at CPIT here in good old
Christchurch. I've spent the majority of the last year and a half
focussing on pre-production design or "concept art". I've been designing
everything from characters to environments and freaky hairless mole-rat
creatures with hyena henchmen. I must say, looking back on my work from
first year I certainly have come a long way.
I've been focussing
mostly on my digital painting skills, as you may have noticed in my site.
I guess it's been a bit of a passion of mine for the past four years, ever
since I discovered photoshop. Recently I've been taking inspiration from
artists like Feng Zhu and more traditionally, The Wyeth family.
I
have been putting a lot of energy into this years work at CPIT, Resulting
in Project A.R.T and through this project I have been learning a lot about
developing a sound story-line and convincing designs, it has taught me to
work hard and fast and forced me to find the most efficient ways of
solving a design problem. I believe this project will give me the best
head start to the working environment of the entertainment
industry. But beyond all the hard work I might put into my gifts and
future career, I owe all my hard work to my closest companion, Jesus. I
wouldn't be where I am right now if it wasn't for what he did in my
life and I certainly wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for God. Therefore
because of his love for me, I view all of my hard work as worship to him
and may it make him ever so proud!
